How to Make Cookie Monster Cookies
STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
STEP 2: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg until smooth and creamy.
STEP 3: Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt, then continue mixing on medium speed, using the paddle attachment, until a soft dough forms.
STEP 4: Add one teaspoon at a time of royal blue food gel coloring, and continue mixing until the dough reaches the desired shade of blue.
STEP 5: Gently stir in the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, chopped Oreos, and chopped chocolate chip cookies until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
STEP 6: Use a portion scoop to drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
STEP 7: Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges become slightly firm but the centers remain soft. (Because they are blue, it will be hard to see if they are golden brown, so be sure to use a timer and watch the baking time.)
STEP 8: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. The cookies will continue to firm as they cool. Add the eyes to the cookies once they cool.
Tips for Making the Best Cookie Monster Cookies
- Use gel food coloring: It gives the dough a vibrant blue color without changing the flavor or texture of the cookies.
- Chill the dough: If the dough is too soft, chill for 15-20 minutes before baking to prevent excessive spreading.
- Press candy eyes on after baking: Otherwise they will melt in the oven.

Absolutely! If you want to swap out flavors, try using milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips for a unique twist.
