Spicy noodles are a flavorful, mildly hot dish that can be enjoyed on their own or combined with your favorite meats and vegetables, stir-fry style. This quick and easy recipe uses simple ingredients and can be ready in less than 20 minutes.
Easy Spicy Noodles Recipe
This spicy noodle recipe is easy to customize with different veggies or toppings, making it ideal for busy weeknight dinners. By switching up the flavors each time, it is always fresh and exciting. I love preparing a large batch for dinner parties and serving it with small bowls of cooked proteins so guests can mix and match to create their perfect meal.
How Hot are Spicy Noodles?
This recipe can easily be adjusted, so if you don’t like a lot of spice, just stick to 2 tablespoons of sriracha. If you prefer more heat, add an extra 1-2 tablespoons of sriracha or even a pinch of chili powder or red pepper flakes to the sauce. It is really a personal taste preference!
The first time you try this recipe, I do recommend starting out with 2 tablespoons of sriracha and then adding more once you’ve tasted the sauce mixture.

Tips for Making the Best Spicy Noodles
- Balance the Flavors: Adding a teaspoon of sugar or honey can add just a little bit of sweetness to your noodles, or add a pinch of red chili flakes if you need to add more heat.
- Choose the Right Noodles: Use noodles like egg noodles, ramen, rice noodles, or udon, for the best texture. Cook them al dente to prevent sogginess.
- Don’t Overcook the Noodles: Boil them just to al dente so they aren’t soggy when added to the sauce.
- Meal Prep: Make a large batch and then divide into meal prep bowls and have meals for the week ready to go!
Spicy Noodle Variations
- Add Crunch: If you are looking for more crunch in your spicy noodles, try adding veggies like thinly sliced carrots, broccoli, snap peas, green beans, cabbage, chopped peanuts, or sliced mushrooms. The options are endless!
- Make it Meaty: Add protein to your spicy noodles with chopped or sliced meat of your choice, such as steak, chicken, egg, shrimp, or even tofu.

Let noodles cool before storing, then transfer to an airtight container. Keep in the fridge for 3-4 days before discarding.
I recommend reheating them on the stove in a skillet over medium heat until the noodles have been warmed thoroughly. You can also microwave the noodles for 30 seconds, then mix and continue microwaving for an additional 30-45 seconds, depending on how much you are warming up.
