These baked ham and cheese sliders on Hawaiian rolls are one of my favorite quick and easy party recipes. They’re sweet, savory, cheesy, and baked to golden perfection. They are perfect for game day, potlucks, or for an easy weeknight dinner.

I have made these ham and Swiss sliders SO many times, and I never go home with leftovers! Friends and family love them because they are delicious. But I like to make them because they come together in under 30 minutes and are pretty simple to make.

Each slider is loaded with layers of Black Forest ham, melty Swiss cheese, and a buttery topping made with everything bagel seasoning. The soft Hawaiian rolls make every bite just melt in your mouth.

Ingredients You Will Need

Ham, cheese, mayo, mustard, and other ingredients needed to make sliders, on a marble table.
  • Hawaiian rolls- Soft and slightly sweet, perfect for sliders. You can also use plain slider buns, but the sweetness of rolls adds so much flavor to this recipe.
  • Black Forest ham- Smoky and flavorful. You can also use honey ham slices or leftover holiday ham.
  • Swiss cheese- Melts beautifully and adds creamy texture.
  • Mayonnaise and mustard, to taste- Adds moisture and tang. I think Dijon mustard adds so much extra flavor so swap that if you have it!
  • Butter- Brushing melted butter on top gives the rolls a rich buttery flavor.
  • Worcestershire sauce- Adds depth to the butter mixture.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning- Crunchy and flavorful topping or poppy seeds.

Ham and Cheese Variations

Add onion: This recipe is AMAZING with 1/2 of a finely chopped onion added. To add onions, sauté the onion in the butter in a medium saucepan, then add the Worcestershire sauce, everything bagel seasoning or poppy seeds.

Use leftovers or other cuts: You don’t have to use deli ham for this recipe. If you prefer, you can swap out the ham for your favorite cuts like turkey, roast beef, or chicken. You can also use leftover ham or turkey with cranberries like these holiday sandwiches

How to Make Ham and Cheese Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

STEP 1 : Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

STEP 2: Use a large serrated knife to slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally (keeping the rolls connected), and place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Then spread mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom half of the rolls.

STEP 6: Pour or brush the seasoned butter generously over the top bun. Then bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

STEP 7: Slice and serve warm. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Don’t skip the topping: The everything bagel butter adds so much flavor and crunch.
  • Cover with foil: If you want softer tops, cover during baking, then uncover for the last 2 minutes to brown.
  • Double the recipe: Seriously, they go fast, so if you have a bigger crowd, you will want extra!

FAQs

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes! I personally think they taste even better after they’ve been soaking in the melted butter overnight. You can just prep the sliders and then wrap them in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate (unbaked) for up to 1 day.

Can I use a different type of cheese?

Absolutely. Provolone, cheddar, or pepper jack are all great options.

Do these reheat well?

Yes! Store leftovers in an airtight container and then reheat in the oven or air fryer until warm.
