Ingredients You Will Need

- Strawberry pie filling– Packed with sweet strawberry flavor and the base of this dessert.
- Yellow cake mix– Either white or yellow works great and gives the perfect buttery crumb topping.
- Salted butter– Adds richness and helps create the crumbly topping.
- Cream cheese– Softened for easy swirling into the filling for a creamy layer.
- Whipped topping– Optional for serving but adds a light, fluffy finish.
Variations
- Make a chocolate strawberry dump cake: Use a strawberry cake mix or chocolate cake mix, instead of white or yellow cake.
- Add nuts: Sprinkle chopped nuts like pecans or almonds on top for crunch.
- Try different pie fillings: Swap the strawberry filling for blueberry, apple, or even mixed berries.
How to Make Strawberry Dump Cake with Cream Cheese
STEP 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and then spray a 9×13-inch pan or baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
STEP 2: Spread both cans of strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

STEP 3: In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix and melted butter using a fork until the mixture becomes crumbly. Set aside.
STEP 4: In a small bowl, whip the cream cheese until smooth. Drop dollops of the whipped cream cheese over the strawberry filling. Gently swirl with a knife to incorporate it into the filling slightly.

STEP 5: Sprinkle the cake mix and butter crumble mixture evenly over the top of the strawberries and cream cheese layer.

STEP 6: Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
STEP 7: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm and top slices with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tips
- Use softened cream cheese: This will help it spread a little easier so it makes pretty swirls in the cake.
- Don’t mix the layers: This dump cake comes out so pretty by keeping the layers separate.
- Add toppings: Add whipped topping or ice cream to make it even better.

Yes! You can prepare the dump cake, bake it, and store it in the refrigerator. Serve cold or reheat it before serving for the best taste.
For this recipe, the pie filling works best because it creates that sweet, syrupy layer. If you prefer fresh strawberries, you’ll need to cook them down with sugar to create a similar consistency.
