How to Make Maple Bacon Cupcakes
STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a muffin tin with paper cupcake liners.
STEP 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and flour. Then set aside.

STEP 3: Use a mixer to beat butter and sugar on high speed for about 2 minutes until smooth. Then add eggs and maple syrup, beating on high for another 2 minutes until combined.

STEP 4: Gradually add 1/2 of the dry ingredients (flour mixture), followed by 1/2 of the milk. Continue alternating until all ingredients are combined, until a thick batter forms. Then gently fold in crumbled bacon bits.

STEP 5: Divide the batter evenly among the 12 muffin cups, filling them each about 3/4 of the way full. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

STEP 6: Let cupcakes cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
STEP 7: To make the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter with a mixer on high speed until creamy. Use the whisk attachment if you have it.

STEP 8: Add maple syrup and powdered sugar. Start mixing on low speed, then increase to high until smooth. Then transfer frosting to a piping bag to decorate or spread over each cooled cupcake with a knife.
Tips for Making the Best Maple Bacon Cupcakes
- Use real maple syrup: Imitation syrup won’t deliver the same depth of flavor.
- Let cupcakes cool before frosting: This will prevent the frosting from melting.
- Dry the bacon: Drain and the pat the bacon pieces dry with a paper towel to remove all of the bacon grease. This will help them crumble easier, and keep the grease away from the frosting.
