If you’ve tried our Berry Caprese Salad or Strawberry Cheesecake Brownies, you already know I’m all about festive food that’s both pretty and easy. These rainbow fruit skewers are no exception! They’re quick to prep and make any table feel instantly brighter.
You can pair these skewers with a glass of Peach Mimosa for brunch or add them as a fresh side with your next holiday or Christmas Charcuterie Board. They even work as a sweet finisher with these Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries, after something savory like this creamy Rasta Pasta with chicken.

Recipe Variations
- Change up the fruits: Use blackberries instead of raspberries for a bolder color, or add watermelon or cantaloupe for extra sweetness
- Create themed skewers: Add red and pink fruits for Valentine’s Day or green and red for Christmas. Cherries, and pears are seasonal favorites for our fruit kebabs.
- Add dipping sauce: Kids love to dip their fruit in this 2 ingredient fruit dip, or you can drizzle a chocolate syrup on top to make them more like a dessert!
- Make mini versions: Use toothpicks or festive cocktail picks for easy snacking or even drink garnishes.
- If you have leftover fruit, add them to this easy to make American flag fruit pizza or this classic Ambrosia Salad!
How to Assemble Fruit Skewers
Prep your fruit by rinsing everything thoroughly. Peel the mango and kiwi, then cut into chunks or rounds, and remove stems from the strawberries.

- Start with a wooden skewer. Slide on a raspberry first so it anchors the bottom. Add a strawberry next, pressing it gently to secure.

- Add a slice of mandarin if desired, a chunk of mango, and a piece of pineapple. Follow with a kiwi slice, then a green grape, and a pink grape.

- Finish it off with a blueberry at the top.

- Repeat with remaining skewers until all your fruit is used.
Expert Tips
- Use firm fruit: Ripe and firm fruits will hold their shape, so nothing falls off the skewer. If you want bananas on the skewers, slide them on just before serving so they don’t turn brown.
- Cut pieces evenly: If you are picky, like me, you will want the skewers to look neat and uniform, but this will also make them easier to eat
- Chill the skewers before serving: Refrigerating the skewers will keep everything fresh and crisp.
- Soak wooden or bamboo skewers in water for 10 minutes to prevent splintering

Fruit Skewers FAQs
Yes! To save time before your event, you can prepare fruit skewers the night before your event. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator, If you do need to make them early, avoid fruits like bananas or apples that brown quickly.
Refrigerate fruit skewers until you’re ready to serve them. You can also place them on a tray of ice during the event if you need them chilled longer.
Fruits that are firm and juicy without being mushy work best. Think grapes, pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, and melon. Avoid anything overripe.
These fruit skewers are simple to prep, fun to serve, and guaranteed to brighten your table. Whether you’re hosting a brunch, birthday, or baby shower, they’re always a hit.
