Cherry Bombs Ingredients

- white chocolate melts: Melt until smooth for dipping.
- Blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles: Use a generous amount in a shallow bowl for coating.
A full list of ingredients is included in the recipe card below.
Variations
- Change the chocolate: Use milk chocolate or dark chocolate instead of white chocolate for a richer flavor.
- Switch the colors: Use red or white sanding sugar for different holidays or party themes.
- Add coconut flavor: Sprinkle shredded coconut with the sanding sugar for a fun twist.
How to Make Cherry Bombs

- Carefully remove the cherries from the jars and place them on a paper towel to dry completely.

- Melt the white chocolate in a microwaveable bowl in 15 to 20 second increments, stirring after each increment until smooth. Dip each cherry into the white chocolate, covering about one half to three quarters of the cherry.

- Immediately dip the bottom portion into the sanding sugar, coating about one quarter of the cherry.

- Place the cherries onto a parchment or wax paper lined baking sheet. Let set for at least 30 minutes, or until chocolate is completely dry.
Boozy Cherry Bombs
If you want to turn these into a fun adult version, drain the cherries and place them in a bowl or mason jar, then cover them with 1/3 cup Malibu rum or vanilla vodka. Let them soak for 12 to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
Once they are done soaking, remove them and pat them completely dry with paper towels. This step is important so the chocolate will stick properly. From there, follow the exact same steps for dipping and coating.
You’ll end up with cherry bombs that are still easy to make, but with that extra flavor that makes them a perfect party treat for adults!

Expert Tips
- Dry the cherries well: Excess moisture will keep the chocolate from sticking, so take a few extra minutes to pat them dry.
- Use a utensil to handle cherries: The juice can stain, so using a fork or spoon makes things easier.
- Melt chocolate slowly: Heating in short intervals keeps the chocolate smooth and prevents burning.
- Thin the chocolate if needed: Stirring in a little coconut oil makes dipping easier and gives a smoother finish.
