How to Make Red, White, and Blue Jello Shots
Before you start, be sure to make space in the fridge for a baking sheet or dish to hold your Jello shots!

- For the blue layer, in a microwave- safe bowl, heat one cup of water until it is boiling. (about two minutes) Stir in the blue Jello until dissolved, then add ¾ cup vodka and ¼ cup cold water.

- Let it cool slightly, then pour into each shot glass until ⅓ full. Chill for at least an hour, or until firm.

- For the white layer, add ½ cup cool water and the unflavored gelatin, stir and then let it bloom for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup boiling water then stir together until gelatin is dissolved. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup vodka.

- Let it cool to room temperature, then pour over the set blue layer until each glass is about ⅔ full. Return to fridge and chill for another hour.

- For the red layer, place a cherry in each shot glass. Microwave 1 cup water for 2 minutes until boiling. Stir in the red Jello until dissolved, then add ¾ cup vodka and ¼ cup cold water.

Expert Tips
- Let each layer fully set: Before adding the next layer, make sure the last layer is firm, to keep those layers defined.
- Chill time matters: Let them firm in the refrigerator. Don’t rush it. These need about 3 hours total to set up just right.
- Cherries are a fun addition: You can leave the stems on or off before topping your shots.
- Choose small plastic cups: If you need to make a large amount for a group, grab small containers that have lids on them so you can stack them in the fridge and serve them easier.

- Cool the Jello mixtures: Let the Jello cool before pouring them on the previous layer to prevent melting.
- Chill time matters: Let them firm in the refrigerator. Don’t rush it. These need about 3 hours total to set up just right.
